About THB
The Heights Bulletin is a newspaper club run by the 8th Grade students at PS/IS 187 Hudson Cliffs. Founded in 2021 by three dedicated teens, THB strives to let the underrepresented voices of our community be heard. A school tradition for the seniors, THB focuses on bringing the students together. We meet virtually every Friday from 3:00 - 4:00 PM.

I am the one of the co-founders of the heights bulletin. I love writing and expressing my voice with my peers and community. I’m an athlete who loves to ball out. I was also president of the middle school in 8th grade. I can't wait for this club to be a chance for teenagers of the 187 community to speak their minds. I hope y'all enjoy!

Hello everyone! My name is Cheyla Ramirez Crawford. I am a co-founder of THB! I am thirteen years old and I have a huge love for free writing and poetry! My family has a pretty long line of poets, writers etc. and I’m the first to embrace journalism and a passion for politics. I was born and raised in Washington Heights, New York, but because of the pandemic, my parents moved us out of the city to Pennsylvania. Some of the fun things I love are musical theatre, dance, and reading! I have been singing since I was a little baby. Musical theatre is a passion of mine, however, my dream job is to be a lawyer. I'm super excited to write with my peers and I can't wait for you to read our work!

Izzy
Hii, my name/nickname is Izzy. I’m 13, bilingual (born out of the US), and I have been a student at 187 for almost a decade now. I’d love to say that I am a pretty active, open, and approachable person. Unfortunately because of covid my hobbies are pretty limited but I love to listen to music and expand my education whenever I have the ability to do so. With that being said because of my spare time I have just taken up quite a few extra curricular online classes, and honestly that's about it!

My name is Sofia Radunsky and I am 14 years old. I attended 187 for almost 10 years since I was in Pre-K. I love listening to music and reading. My favorite books are Five Feet apart, All This Time, The whole Harry Potter series, Greenglass House, and Dumplin. I like to do yoga, spend time with my pupper, and hang out with friends.

I’m Vaylyn, I’m 14 years old, and I attended 187 since kindergarten until I graduated in the Class of 2021. I enjoy writing poetry, singing, and baking. I’m a freshman now, (along with everyone else working on the newspaper,) but for some reason, it still hasn’t settled in yet. I worked on the lifestyle section along with Sofia, Zoe, and Lily.

My name is Yuxin Waitkus-Tsang, I am 14 years old, and I am one of the co-founders of THB! I am an aspiring photojournalist and love politics and writing. I was a student at 187 for 10 years and graduated in the Class of 2021, and it has become my second home. I live in NYC (the best place to live) and love to bake and read novels in my spare time.
Hello there. My name is Nicholas Bridenstine and I am 13 years old and am a graduate of the Class of 2021 at P.S.187. I had been at 187 for 10 years and I am excited to help the school newspaper. I enjoy video games, reading, and just hanging out with my friends. Also, I like to edit videos in my free time.

I’m a 13 year old 9th grader and I attended 187 for 4 years. I love romance and horror movies, and I practically live for popcorn. My education is one of the most important things to me, and I joined this club so that I could help inform and inspire other students, as well as build on my love for writing.

I'm Zoe Markoe! I'm 14, and I've been part of 187 for 10 years. I usually just read, talk to my friends, or play games for hours and let the time pass by. I love poetry and art, but overall my favorite thing is seeing my friends happy. I'm a little bit of a hopeless romantic, and my favorite stories can be found online, although my all-time favorite book is the school for good and evil.

I’m Aleena Arain and I’m a 14 year old Pakistani. I’ve went to Hudson cliffs for around 8 years, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. My favorite classes are Literacy and Social Studies, but my passions and goals lie in Science. I’m from a family of doctors, and I wanna follow in their footsteps as a neurologist. I also draw a lot in my free time, digital drawing becoming a big part of what I do in the day. And when I’m not drawing, I’m watching movies and tv shows while analyzing them and taking inspiration from them for my own projects.
